Across Brazil, artisans work with different plant-based materials to create jewelry in many shapes, textures and colors.

Seeing the material differently

Morototo, tento, saboneteira, Jarina, açaí and many other materials appear in the creations selected by Amazonikaa.

Some retain their natural color. Others may be transformed or dyed before being incorporated into the jewelry. Each piece therefore depends on the material chosen and the artisan's work.

These differences are part of what Amazonikaa seeks to make visible: before becoming jewelry, every material has its own shape, texture and story.

Amazonikaa selects these creations from partner artisans in Brazil. Some are made within traditional or Indigenous communities, while others come from artisans with different backgrounds and creative worlds.

We state the origin, materials and artisan when this information is documented, without assigning a story or meaning to a creation that we do not know.

Taking care of your handmade jewelry

The creations selected by Amazonikaa are handmade using a variety of materials: beads (miçanga), seeds, plant fibers, wood, Capim Dourado, natural stones, or metallic elements, depending on the piece.

To preserve their appearance over time:

  • avoid prolonged contact with water and humidity;

  • avoid direct contact with perfumes, cosmetics, alcohol, and other chemical products;

  • avoid prolonged exposure to the sun;

  • avoid friction with surfaces that may scratch or damage the materials;

  • after use, gently clean your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth;

  • preferably store it separately, in a dry place away from direct light.
